Stainmore Wolfhound & Bensington Bluestone

Wolfie and Tally after winning first place in the Cleveland Bay Purebred class and Reserve Champion for the Cleveland Bay division at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show in June 2006. Unfortunately, Wolfie was not able to attend in 2007 due to an injury. Since then he has become sound and is back to work. We are planning to return in 2008.

Stainmore Wolfhound - Proven Performance and Fertility

Stainmore Wolfhound is a purebred Cleveland Bay Horse standing at stud for the 2008 season at Ridgemor Farm, Inc. He is now available to the public on a limited basis. Stainmore Wolfhound is a young stallion who was imported from Great Britain as a colt. Currently he is training for dressage and hunter/jumpers. He has shown successfully on a limited basis including winning Reserve Champion in the Cleveland Bay Division at the prestigious 2006 Upperville Colt and Horse Show, Inc. He placed first in the conformation class. He has also done some East Tennessee Hunter Jumper Shows as well as a Combined Training Show. He only showed one season. He sustained an injury and has been unable to show in 2007. He had his final checkup at the Haygard Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky and was pronounced sound by Dr. Gomez who specializes in sport horses. Wolfie is back to work on a limited schedule and should resume jumping in January. In 2008, we plan on taking him to Upperville as well as do some A hunter/jumper shows and some local shows in East Tennessee.

Not only does Wolfie do his job in the show ring, he also attends promotional events for the Cleveland Bay. In 2006 and 2007, he has attended the Hoosier Horse Fair in Indianapolis, IN. At the 2007 event he participated in the Linda Allen clinic where many people commented on how nice he jumped and his wonderful conformation and disposition. He also represented the breed at BreyerFest 2006. He has also participated in local clinics and trains with Holli Adams in Tryon, NC. If you would like to meet us and see our horses in person, please check out our schedule.

He has proven fertility with nine foals currently on the ground. Ridgemor Farm, Inc has two foals for sale, a three year old gelding and a weanling filly. Please visit the Horses For Sale page to learn about them. Of these, two were by shipped cooled semen, and he has an embryo transfer filly in utero via shipped cooled semen. We are no longer doing live cover due to fear of injury.

Stainmore Wolfhound (aka Wolfie) jumping at home. This was during his first year under saddle. We tried to do dressage with him the first year, but both he and Tally became very bored. Both attitudes improved with jumping.

Bensington Bluestone (A.K.A. Tees) at Kentucky Horse Park.
Bensington Bluestone - Exceptional Bloodlines and Athleticism

Bensington Bluestone (A.K.A. Tees - after the River Tees in Northern England) was imported in March, 2007, as an outcross stallion to Stainmore Wolfhound. Both his sire and dam are from proven performance lines and Tees was imported for this athleticism. He is 2 1/2 years old and will begin work under saddle at the age of three. Tees has already done limited lunging and long lining exercises at the walk.

He will be doing limited breedings in the 2009 season by artificial insemination of fresh cooled semen.
